Baby Mary Jane Take 3!

Yeap.. take 3! so I finally decided to purchase the pattern and alter it, since I have no idea why the instruction wants me to closed the sole from the outside. So I basically combined my regular shoes technique with the new pattern and instead of using velcro or clasp for the strap, I used elastic so it will stay put. Since babies are smarter than we thought.. they do know how to open velcro (e.g. BIB!).

Anyway.. here's the link if you want to purchase my mary jane. I can customize the fabric or style match your desire :D hahaha.

One of the BBC (baby center) moms asked whether I can make a pair of sandals for her 10 mos. old boy. So after doing some "research" I finally came up with this. :D still need a lot of improvements in die-cutting a fabric.. but anyhow.. for $10 what do you expect? :D

Here's the link if you want to buy it.

Rueben Wrap

Those of you know who knows my hubby.. knows that he LOVES rueben sandwich. When we went to Arby's last weekend, he ordered reuben wrap. So I thought... hmm.. that's interesting and I bet I can make it too. Basically just replaced the rye bread with tortilla wrap :).

So VOILA!

- Tortilla Wrap
- Corned Beef Meat from the Deli

How to make it:
- On tortilla wrap, put some thousand island dressing in a center.

- stack the meat on top of the sauerkraut
- cut the swiss cheese into two and placed them on top of the meat.

- spray both side of the wrap with butter
- grill them for 5 minutes till the wrap a lil bit crispy.

My Very First Applique Stitch

Today I watched this youtube video how to make the Appliqué Stitch. Which is actually easier than I thought it would be.

Basically use your zigzag presser foot, and carefully sew around the edge of your appliqué. AND DONE :D

I'm so happy.. now I can put appliqués on Carissa's shoes!

Mommy's Diaper Sac

Since I breastfeed my baby, I never really carried around "ginormous diaper bag". This is my diaper bag, which is actually a regular bag :D

So anyway! back to the main topic. Usually I carried around a ziploc bag with diapers & wipes. Not really pretty! So I decided to make my own diaper sac on the go thingy. Since I don't like those diaper on the go that they sell at walmart or target.. too BULKY! and huge.

So here's my diaper sac version, it's so simple.. I just cut a rectangular shape fabric (you can do square), and I used vinyl again for the inside, so this sac can be use for changing pad. Then sew all together and flip it.

Create a button hole on 1 of the corners, and then sew a button on the center of the fabric. And VOILA! :D here's what the inside/back look like.

Baby Bib with a Pocket

This bib is little bit too short :D and the neck needs to be a tad bit bigger. But you got the idea, the outer part is a vinyl so no need to wash, just wipe it off and clean.

I made a fold on the front part, so it can be a crumb catcher. Woohoo for less crumbs on the floor! :D

Basically what I did was.. trace the regular bib on the fabrics that you want to use and maybe give some room to sew (cut the bottom fabric longer for the front part, so that can be fold into a pocket). And then just sew around on the wrong side, flip them.. sew the bottom part and put velcro on the back flap and you're done! :D
